Peter E Raymond :: President and Chief Innovator
Peter operates on many levels at once, constantly pushing his team for stronger ideas, better insight and more innovative thinking. He always considers creative, operations and technology when developing a solution for clients, bringing years of experience and a diverse talent set to the table. He built Human Condition, LLC as an innovation firm that solves complex problems with a very human touch.
Peter has consulted for businesses of all size, medical and educational institutions, influencing educational, technological, and business strategy decisions. He is a facilitator of both people and ideas. He designed the world's first fully immersive congestive heart failure simulator, as well as multiple sclerosis and restless leg syndrome simulators to bring greater understanding and awareness to the medical community.
His work can be seen around the globe installed in museums and showing in theaters, on TV and traveling in mobile exhibits. Additionally his work has been exhibited at international automotive, aeronautic and medical shows in New York, Detroit, Tokyo, Paris, Madrid and London; he has designed a permanent exhibit at the National Baseball Hall of Fame as well as being featured by Apple, Inc. Peter has consulted for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Africa-America Institute and the Rockefeller Foundation and helped marry storytelling and data.
He currently founded and is President and Chief Innovator at Human Condition an innovation firm with a human touch. Human Condition's expertise in communications, brand, design, emerging technologies and human factors uniquely qualifies them to develop truly innovative concepts, products and experiences that solve modern business challenges. They also develop unique immersive multi-sensory simulations and experiences for the healthcare, military, educational and entertainment industries. Human Condition maintains an advanced R&D Lab that develops emerging technologies and validates their use in application.
In the Spring of 2010 Peter formed Equisense Systems, Inc., with the purpose to redefine global Olympic athletic training systems and in August of 2010 he formed ÜBERANGST the worlds first App Agency.
Peter has also founded Clinics Rising, a nonprofit media venture aimed at raising awareness and telling the unheard stories of the tremendous challenges in advancing global health care. The current stories being told are unfolding in Rwandan and Sudan.
He recently joined the Board of the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization responsible for conceiving, planning and coordinating the development of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.
James Schaffer :: COO / CFO
James brings an expansive vision to not only the finance and operations, but to the creative and growth strategy of HCX success.
In 2008, and after several years of global non-profit organizational development and a mix of local start-up projects, James formed Semantic Management LLC to forward his vision of sustainable enterprise and strategic consulting: graphical facilitation of tactics and strategy, excellent data collection and sophisticated tools for analysis, projection, and improved outcomes. Having joined forces with Human Condition in 2009, James continues to pursue discovery of systems design excellence and operational efficiencies.
James serves on the Board of Exalt (www.exaltyouth.org) and is an advisor to the National Leadership Team for Hand-in Hand, the Domestic Employers Association.
He is a graduate of Harvard College, where he received his degree magna cum laude with highest honors. He lives in Brooklyn and enjoys bananas and Kathy has obtained a set of keys to his apartment.
Billy Gomberg :: Technical Director
With Human Condition, Billy Gomberg has developed installation and performance systems, interactive audiovisual content, sensory interfaces and haptics, and generalized esoteric technology creations for our diverse client base. Additionally, he managed the GHRI On Tour project on site, and is serving as TD for Equisense, working with Peter Raymond and Jane Savoie to develop innovative saddle & instructional technology for the equestrian community. He's excited.
Billy's album Flyover Sound (a collaboration with Jason Corder/offthesky) has been nominated for a 2011 Qwartz Award for Electronic Music in the "Experimental/Research" category. His CDs Comme, and Days have also been met with fascination and surprise. Recently, Billy has contributed remixes for Offthesky’s du soleil and Pawn’s Above The Winter Oaks.
Billy holds degrees from Brown University (MA, Computer Music & Multimedia) and the University of Iowa (BA, Film Studies/English).
Robert Kolodny :: Filmmaker/Associate Creative Director
Robert Kolodny is a filmmaker and creative director based out of New York City. He is the creator of over fifty short films and video art pieces. In 2010 he was awarded a National Board of Review Human Spirit Award for his short film Shelter. He has had films screened at The Anthology Film Archives, The Woodstock Film Festival, The Tiburon International in California and internationally at the Max Ophüls Preis in Saarbrücken Germany.
Robert is a recipient of a School of Visual Arts Alumni Grant for further exploration in the medium of filmmaking. He won a Home Grown Award at the 2011 Garden State Film Festival. As a video editor he has been recognized for his work at the Dusty Film and Animation Festival, The Manalapan Independent Film Festival and the Central Jersey Film Festival. His photography and installation work have been featured in numerous contemporary art galleries. He has been invited to guest lecture on the subject of the holocaust and genocide awareness at various educational and not for profit institutions.
He has directed and produced music videos for the independent music label Eyeball Records and has created fashion video pieces for collections by With Love and Ghilaga. Most recently Robert has developed media for a number of humanitarian organizations, including H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 where he traveled to Haiti as a photo/videojournalist. Robert is also a prolific fiction writer, essayist and published poet.
Rob Storm :: Developer
Rob is the ever-joking Game Designer at Human Condition. Passionate about great game design, he has been dissecting videogames like a mad scientist since he was just a kid. For him, videogames have been a great teaching tool and inspiration for other endeavors throughout his life. Part artist and part techie, Rob strives to show people how a thoughtful game design can become more than just a piece of entertainment, but a memorable and moving experience for its users.
Michael Winer :: West Coast Accounts
Michael Winer describes himself as an "unpretentious medical device, biotech and pharmaceutical professional" with nearly 20 years in leadership roles in R&D, engineering, operations, program management and business development for such companies as Novo Nordisk, Abbott, Thoratec and Mission Medica.
Mr. Winer is experienced in realizing novel cardiovascular, diagnostic and drug delivery products. He is also knowledgeable in many areas of science, technology and innovation.
His passion is bridging technical challenges with talented innovators to catalyze solutions.
Winer earned his MBA from St. Mary's College of Moraga and his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University.

Russell Reich :: Creative Director / Writer
Russell Reich has worked with disease state simulators, museum and trade show exhibits, product launches, video scripts and a wide variety of communications for such clients as IBM, Pfizer, Deloitte and other leaders in the technology, pharmaceutical and financial industries as well as in the non-profit field.
Mr. Reich's writing extends beyond these spheres and into the publishing arena where he has received Book of the Year for his Notes on Directing and achieved bestseller status on Amazon.com within one week for Notes on Cooking. (Reich is the publisher of the acclaimed “Notes on...” series.)
His credits range from developing the first-ever prescription drug website at Claritin.com to, more recently, conceiving the award-winning HeartFX Pod and his praise has been featured in such publications as Webmaster Magazine.
Reich served as Visiting Artist-in-Residence at Harvard University.
Alex Fischer :: Video Editor
Alex Fischer has worked as a director, editor, photographer, producer, web developer and graphic designer. His background in filmmaking has provided him with skills in both the technical and storytelling aspects of production.
For Human Condition, Mr. Fischer has immersed himself in projects ranging from documentaries to full-blown interactive exhibits. His most recent work sent him to northern Rwanda where he produced, directed and shot a series of fundraising videos for a non-profit organization.
Sean Clauson :: Film Maker + Video Producer
Filmmaker Sean Clauson has spent a decade working on projects all over the world including two years of non-stop documentary filming in Rwanda and Sudan. Mr. Clauson specializes as a producer, director, location soundman, cinematographer and editor.
His body of experience includes feature films and documentaries as well as commercials and music videos working with such clients as NBC, McDonalds and Virgin Records.
Peter Valentine :: Creative Writer
Peter Valentine has worked as a writer, director, branding consultant, playwright and interactive media artist since 1995. Mr. Valentine's talents have brought him to a spectrum of experiences from speechwriting for CEO’s to scriptwriting for Flight of the Conchords.
He has helped develop event concepts and themes, executive speeches and presentations, videos and live performances for such clients as Apple, Google, Sony, Cisco Systems, HBO, Comcast, Cartier and Calvin Klein.
Valentine is widely published and his poetry has appeared in the New York Times.
Russell Tepper :: Copy Editor
Besides a professional copy editor and consultant, Russell Tepper is a poet and fiction writer who has done documentary and playwriting work as well as journalistic writing for expat publications while living in China.
Mr. Tepper recently returned to the U.S. to freelance in writing and creative development.
